Sylvester Stallone is back on screen as a recently dismissed Emergency Medical Systems chief that is needed to save the day. Daylight weaves the tail of a tunnel from New York to New Jersey that has collapsed. Even though there is an intense fire burning away in the tunnel some people have managed to survive. Stallone, who was just about ready to enter the tunnel himself, finds an opportunity to use a demonstration that was run years earlier to help get the trapped victims out. The plot and times is a bit unbelievable, but the action is nonstop and keeps you glued to the screen. The survivors that need rescuing include the struggling but often rejected writer from Iowa, the family that is going through a crisis because of the father's infidelity and a busload of prisoners to name a few. Stallone finds a way into the damaged tunnel but the question is....can he find a way out? Despite the fact that the plot lacks in some points I enjoyed the movie and the action within it.

Parents Guide: Rated R action sequences and some language provide a fairly tame background. View this film before allowing younger children to, but it is not as bad as some R rated films.
