What's It About?
Street racing...it's a life that is behind the scenes but attracts a larger number of kids with the speed, the glamour, the women and the cars. But with the amount of money these kids are spending on their cars, some of them will inevitably turn to illicit ways to fund their hot vehicles.
That's, of course, where the police get involved as it seems that there are people with hot street racers that have taken to hijacking truckloads full of merchandise. And of course this electronics equipment would garner a nice sum of money to help outfit these hot street rods. So the question then becomes, who is hijacking the trucks? Find out as things get Fast and Furious.
Common Guy's Thoughts
This is a good film for what it is. So what do I mean? This is a film that looks at fast cars, fast women, and an undercover world that thrills everyone involved in it. This is not meant to be a film that demands a rocket scientist to be able to enjoy it, instead just remove yourself from society for a couple of hours and enjoy the ride.
I would watch Vin Diesel do just about anything. To me he is the epitome of the "bad a**" character. He has always played roles like Dominic in this film with ease. He is able to dominate the screen and hold the viewers attention whenever he appears. His co-star, Paul Walker, is slowly getting better in his abilities, but although he has a lot of screen time, he doesn't dominate as Diesel does..
Overall this is a good film for what it is as I said earlier. There are a number of very cool street racing scenes that are shot quite well and look better than most racing themed movies. This is truly the type of film that the summer was made for. Fast cars, gorgeous women, and a whole lot of escape from the real world. Strap in and try The Fast And The Furious for some escapist fun.

Parents Guide
Rated PG-13 for violence, sexual content and
language. There are some
scenes of sexual content, but they never go real far onscreen, and of course
there is violence that exists onscreen as you can expect with a movie about
highjackings and car races. As far as language goes, the film isn't that
bad given its plotline. It could be much worse. Your young kids will
want to see this film as it hits right at the teenage market, for the most part
it isn't bad but if any of the above situations are of a concern to you,
prescreen the film.
